Healthy Child Care/Nurse's Desk is responsible for providing information about current diseases/illnesses in the community, methods of disease prevention and assisting with policy development for the child care programs. As new epidemics occur, e.g. influenza, information sheets are provided to assist the daycare provider as well as parent information sheets are provided.  In cases of recurrent infectious problems in a center, the health consultant is available for onsite evaluation and assistance. There are also specially trained child care health consultants who may assist with a site's ITERS, Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale.
