The SDCDA Training Project provides early childhood professional training and mentorship for individuals who work with children in child care centers, family child care homes, preschools, out-of-school programs and Head Start programs.

The CDA Credential is a nationally recognized early childhood professional credential.  The Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, DC administers the CDA credential procedures.  More information on the national credential can be found at www.cdacouncil.org

To be eligible for the program, you must currently work with children or wish to pursue a career working with children.  The SDCDA curriculum provides formal training that supports each student’s ability to meet the national CDA assessment requirement including:

  • 120 hours of formal education
  • Assistance with organizing Professional Resource file and other documentation of competence
  • Formal observations completed by trained CDA advisors
