The new South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines provides those of us working with preschoolers (ages 3-5 years) with a set of guidelines in the areas of literacy, mathematics, social-emotional development, science, health and physical development, social studies and the arts.   ECC has developed a series that explores each of these content standards and their related benchmarks. Each class is highly interactive, and uses a demonstration classroom complete with materials and equipment to illustrate developmentally appropriate ways to plan, support and facilitate learning in preschool.

These 7 classes may be taken individually, or as a series. However, all students must take the Introduction to SD Early Learning Guidelines as a prerequisite to taking any of the remaining 6 classes.  Students taking the Preschool Block as a series will eligible for a CEU credit with the completion of an additional assignment and fee.   Check our training calendar for details. The introduction class will be repeated several times throughout the year.
